A simple period limestone fireplace surround. Consisting of a lintel and two supporting jambs, all resting on plain foot blocks. This type of fireplace has been in use since fireplaces were first installed, they are sometimes called post & beam surrounds due to their simple construction method, they were often fashioned in stone to provide a supporting structure around the fire opening in a wall.
The hearth is for photographic purposes, and is not included.
