A Louis XVI style 19th century mahogany fireplace surround painted in French Grey. The breakfront shelf rests above a lambs tongue beaded frieze centred by a delicately carved ribboned, leaf, and berry wreath and sprigs, flanked on the end blocks by square foliate paterae. The opening aperture is surrounded by deep carved egg and dart detail with oak leafs to each joining corner, finishing on to splayed foot blocks. The tapering jambs are surmounted by large Acanthus leaf corbels above stop ended fluting, all resting on moulded foot blocks.
