A rare late 19th century Scottish Arts & Crafts manner fire grate probably by L. Bennet Fife, Scotland.

A high cartouche back with applied square rivets hosting a central Scottish thistle, a three barred wrought iron shaped ribbed outer frame which is fed through shaped standard supports with scroll finials, the original shaped grate bars sit on the bottom rail. A truly remarkable piece of iron craftsmanship.

L Bennet was Robert Lorimer’s (Arch) chief blacksmith turning his ideas into reality from his Fife forge.

Scottish 1890c.
