A 19th Century Victorian Rococo manner cast iron & brass fire grate basket. The high shaped cartouche back plate with scalloped side cheeks, the four barred shaped fire front resting on cushion spaces, the basket elegantly supported by two intricate cast brass cabriolet legs with applied acanthus leaves, surmounted with a pair of brass finials, a shaped high relief cast brass apron to the front. All complete with its original fire grate bars and fire stone. This piece is stamped with its Rd number to legs and apron that tells us it was registered in 1887.
