An original Victorian 19th Century Scottish Pencil Veined Carrara marble corbeled fireplace surround.
A generous square edged top shelf sits directly above an unadorned tablet frieze, flanked by a sturdy set of jambs hosting two large geometric corbels with further top capping. The whole resting on splayed foot blocks.
Pencil veined Carrara has much darker and more prominent veining to that of Carrara marble. It was widely used for fireplaces from 1800 onwards due to its dramatic appearance.
Fire opening size: 930mm high x 1000mm wide ( shown in main photo)
This opening can either be reduced in width or increased to a maximum width of 1060mm wide.
