A bold and flamboyant 19th century Victorian cast iron fireplace insert by the renowned foundry Carron of Falkirk. A polished outer plate with a raised cast framed border. The returning rectangular tiles in the shade of Victorian dinning room room red.
Central to this piece, a relief cast hood displaying a central sunflower flanked with Scottish thistles. The three barred shaped fire front and later ash pan door.
The reg number to the rear along with the stamp CN & CO date this piece to 1887.
